Because of my reporting and my colleagues’ reporting, several hearings were held on the Hill about what we had uncovered about the Benghazi attack, and one in particular is pretty laughable even to this day. It began months earlier, when I was sitting at my desk one day, and the phone rang. A friendly voice I’d never heard before introduced himself and said he got my phone number from a friend of a friend.

He stares us down, like a bully on the playground trying to intimidate the new kid. It’s a glare like I haven’t seen in some time. A North Korean soldier and several of his comrades, in a time of high tension, are standing just feet from me and within inches of an American soldier, a true symbol of a 50-year standoff that plays out every single day along the Line of Demarcation between North and South Korea.

Actions speak louder than slogans and the actions of Sheriff Oscar Ortiz continue to not only impress me, but the men and women of his own department. The Napa County Deputy Sheriffs' Association - comprised of district attorney investigators, deputies, sergeants, bailiffs and resource officers - overwhelmingly support him by more than a 2/3rd majority. Oscar was always in the running to be recommended for sheriff. That's not even in question, and he has absolutely the most experience in this race.
