Have you ever used a typewriter?

When I was younger, for fun. Not professionally. Haven't seen one in ages.

How is social media changing news?

Factual headlines are crucial. Misleading headlines may get more clicks, but the outcome from the audience is rarely positive.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

People value your point-of-view.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter.

Who do you wish followed you?

Questlove

Why did you become a journalist?

I want to help shine a light on topics that fly under the radar.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I worked for my University's newspaper. I covered campus and community news, as well as interviewed local artists.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

'Music Industry Advice For Women, By Women.' I had experienced women in the industry give helpful tips for emerging female professionals.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Find a niche topic you're interested, and focus on that lane.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

It's "easy."
