Vassar Agrees to $5-Million Fund to Settle Suit Claiming Women Were Paid Less

What’s New Vassar College has agreed to pay $5 million to settle a class-action lawsuit filed by female professors who claimed the college paid them less than their male colleagues and engaged in gender-based pay discrimination, according to representatives for both parties. The proposed settlement has not yet been approved by the court. Under the proposed agreement, the money would be used to compensate 84 full professors for the alleged discrimination.
