How is social media changing news?
There are pros & cons. There's more accessibility to a variety of news. There's also a larger lack of integrity since anyone can post "news".
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means to gather information and organize it into understandable and interesting stories for readers to consider, learn from, grow, & enjoy
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope! But, I did take a newspaper class in middle school. In high school, I took tons of writing courses, but avoided most group type clubs.
When's the best time to pitch you?
There's not really a best time if it's through e-correspondence. If not, mid-morning is a sweet spot.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
The pitches "inviting" writers to write for free as an interview and spinning that as a favor to the writer are not cool.
What's your favorite drink?
Changes daily. Here's a summertime fave: Jamaican Rootdown (rootbeer, cold brew, and a splash of cream, on ice).
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Easy. In my backyard, reading, birdgazing, flowerwatching, stargazing, gardening, etc.
