SPOKANE, Wash. — A settlement of $425,000 will be awarded to Sierra Athos, who was injured during a joint training exercise by the Spokane Police Department in 2023. The settlement was approved at a city council meeting on Monday night. The incident occurred while Athos, then a cadet with the EWU Police Department, participated in a volunteer tactical team training exercise while on shift with EWUPD.
