(WIAT) — A Gadsden man was arrested and charged with rape, according to Sheriff Jonathon Horton. Matthew Crane was arrested Aug. 19 and taken to the Etowah County Jail. He has been charged with first-degree rape. Investigator Brandi Simmons said a victim disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by Crane for several years at a residence in Etowah County.

Cordova woman killed in homicide, man charged with murder

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating a homicide after a 59-year-old woman was killed Wednesday. Authorities launched an investigation into a homicide in the 600 block of Beville Drive in Cordova. Sandra Moore was identified as the victim. Billy Reid, 65, of Cordova, was arrested and charged with murder. He was taken into custody at the Walker County Jail.
