LANCASTER — Antelope Valley College welcomed its first students into its Paramedic Training program classroom on June 15. It was a slow process for the program, beginning more than two years ago, and now filling a need not just in the Antelope Valley, but in Los Angeles County.

LANCASTER — The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley has received a large donation from the James P. Previti Foundation. The Previti Family presented a check on June 2 for $70,000 to the center at its main office at 45111 Fern Ave. Jim Previti is the founder and CEO for Guardian Capital, which had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 16 for Desert Meadows, a luxury apartment and townhouse community at 2935 West Lancaster Blvd.

Nurses, firemen and emergency medical technicians were stationed outside the entrance to two hospitals in the Antelope Valley on June 2 as part of National CPR and AED Awareness Week. Free CPR training was available to the public.
