Though the Vancouver export, currently living in Berlin, Sophie Sweetland had produced many well-received releases, from her 2014 debut on the defunct trend-setter 1080p to the various EPs and collaborations that came out in its wake, none of them had ever clicked with me.

Opiuo Lived His Best Life at Bass Coast

BY Alan RantaPublished Jul 14, 2026 Australia-based Kiwi producer Oscar Davey-Wraight seemed like he was living his best life at the main stage on Sunday. Opiuo may have delivered the set of the night for a lot of people, as the buzz and energy around this was nearly unmatched. His brand of quirky, psychedelic, bass-heavy glitch-hop was funky but not funk, groovy but rich and surprising, not so much sexy as it was flirty.
