How is social media changing news?

Social media is changing how audiences digest the news, but also making it more accessible through emerging digital technology.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Open and clear communication between editors and journalists is essential for turning a pitch into a great feature article.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

My high school has no newspaper, but I did work for my university magazine as editor in chief, section editor and as a contributor.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Try, try, edit, and try again.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Early mornings.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

Hearing a junior doctor pitch to me an opinion piece about BBC Asian Network and social mobility - it ended up being an incredible article!
