Explosions rang out across the Venezuelan capital of Caracas in the early hours of 3 Janauary as the US Air Force successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela, according to President Trump. Low-flying MH-47 Chinook helicopters flew into Caracas unopposed earlier on Saturday as US military personnel captured and flew President Nicols Maduro and his wife out of the country in an unprecedented operation.

South Korea has removed all intranet images of military and defence ministry officials in a bid to prevent deepfake porn, which is reportedly flooding the controversial social media platform Telegram. Republic of Korea (ROK) Armed Forces officials said all ID photos have been made invisible on the military’s Onnara System intranet, the Korea Times reported.
