Friday, May 29 6:57 a.m. — A 2015 Honda Accord was stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Jackson Drive. 11:43 a.m. — Police responded to a burglary at a residence in the zero block of Park Place, where $11,667 in Euros was stolen.

New Mexico Primary 2026: HD 66 GOP seat likely goes to recount

With 10 votes separating the top two vote-getters, the Republican primary for a local open legislative seat will likely head to a recount. The unofficial results from Tuesday’s three-way Republican primary for the House District (HD) 66 seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives showed Leanne Gandy of Tatum received 999 votes, while Dan Lewis took 989 votes, according to results on the website of the New Mexico Secretary of State’s office. Gandy and Lewis each received 45%.

Results of the New Mexico Primary 2026: Write-in campaign gets Marker GOP nomination in Senate race

Roswell resident Larry E. Marker will be the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, having won a write-in campaign to take on Sen. Ben Ray Luján, a Democrat, in November. With all precincts reporting Wednesday morning, unofficial results from the New Mexico Secretary of State’s office website showed Marker receiving 4,470 write-in votes in Tuesday’s primary election. That put him above the 2,351 write-in vote threshold necessary to appear on the November ballot as the Republican nominee.
