The Hokies fell 14-7 to NC State on Saturday at English Field in a game that had two separate rain delays and a five-run eighth inning for the Wolfpack. “You can’t give up 14 runs and even expect to have a chance,” said Virginia Tech head coach John Szefc. Tech (21-20, 10-13 ACC) surrendered seven runs to NC State (27-15, 10-10) in the first four innings on Saturday, equal to the amount of runs scored by the Hokies all afternoon.

Virginia Tech softball, led by starting pitcher Emma Mazzarone, shut out Virginia on Sunday, 5-0, to pick up a crucial series win over a ranked opponent. No. 12 Virginia Tech (36-6, 11-4 ACC) sliced and diced the No. 21 Virginia (33-8, 10-7) offense to the tune of 11 strikeouts. The Hokies' offense relied on small ball and manufactured offense to score runs once again this series, not hitting for extra bases at all.

Virginia Tech baseball used five pitchers to pitch a combined no-hitter on Tuesday, its sixth in program history, in a 14-0 run-rule victory in a seven-inning game at English Field. “I’m just glad our guys threw strikes,” said Hokies head coach John Szefc. “I don’t really know about the history of it that much.” Virginia Tech (17-18, 7-11 ACC) dominated Radford (16-17) in all facets of the game on English Field.
