Beyond the buzzwords: Inside the launch of Nexevate’s curated founder ecosystem
This is a guest post by Mary Leaf and Dennis Chen, cofounders of Nexevate, a new event series designed for innovation ecosystems. Technical.ly is a media partner. When a space technology executive and a global development CEO sit down to talk about scaling a business, you might expect a dense conversation about logistics or procurement. At the inaugural launch of Nexevate, the room bypassed corporate-speak entirely, landing on something more elusive: raw, honest leadership.

Development and prospective evaluation of a real-time deep learning model for inpatient hypoglycemia prediction
Abstract Inpatient hypoglycemia is associated with increased morbidity, mortality, length of stay, and healthcare costs, yet current management remains reactive due to the lack of real-time prediction tools. We developed, validated, and prospectively evaluated a real-time long short-term memory (LSTM) model to predict hypoglycemia within 24 h using electronic health record (EHR) data from 143,124 adult inpatient admissions across three hospitals between 2014 and 2025.
Beyond the business card: Nexevate aims to reengineer networking for strategic growth
This is a guest post by Mary Leaf and Dennis Chen, cofounders of Nexevate, a new event series designed for innovation ecosystems. Technical.ly is a media partner. Traditional professional networking is broken. We all know the drill: Enter a loud cocktail lounge, hand out a dozen business cards to people hunting for their next transactional lead, repeat a practiced 30-second elevator pitch, leave with zero meaningful alliances.

A rendezvous approach for ampullary access in a strictured duodenojejunostomy
Abbreviation RAP (recurrent acute pancreatitis) ERCP frequently is performed to achieve biliary drainage, which requires identification and cannulation of the biliary orifice at the ampulla.1 However, access to the biliary orifice can be challenging in some conditions such as postsurgical anatomy or duodenal strictures.2,3 This video case report (Video 1, available online at www.videogie.org) demonstrates multimodal ways to achieve ampullary access.

My Only Regret in Life Is Not Petting More Dogs
Now on my deathbed, I’ve had ample time to think back on all the things I could’ve or should’ve done differently. And while most people’s list of regrets include things like “take more risks” and “tell so and so I love them,” I don’t regret any of that. For me, the only thing I truly regret, the one thing that keeps me awake at night besides my swollen bladder, is not petting more dogs. Way more dogs. Like, a wider variety of dogs too.
Streetwear Lookbook: Expectations vs. Reality
Lookbook model wearing parachute pants: Cool, casual, laid-back confidence. Tapers perfectly at his ankles, creating a sporty silhouette. Cargo pockets carry things like a pocket knife, a flask, and extra rolls of film for his vintage 50mm camera. Me wearing the same parachute pants: A filthy man from 2004 with an actual parachute tied around his waist. Pants completely obscure my sneakers from view, creating a trash bag silhouette.
This Recipe Might Seem Painstakingly Complicated, But It’s Also Surprisingly Dangerous
Hello everyone, thank you all for coming to Social Cooking Night at the Santa Monica Community Center. You’re in for a real treat, because tonight we’re going to be making an obscure Chinese dish called Ancient Zodiac Noodles. To all my first-timers, I promise that tonight will be easygoing and full of laughter. Sorry, did I just say laughter? I meant tears. Lots of tears. Because this recipe is painstakingly complicated and also surprisingly dangerous.
