DC police investigate fatal Southeast shooting; second victim found

DC police are investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast. Officers responded around 3:21 a.m. Sunday, June 14, to the 5300 block of E Street SE for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an unconscious man in a parking lot who was not breathing and suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Police identified him as 30-year-old Andre Herndon of Alexandria, Virginia.

Hit-and-run escalates to stabbing in Alexandria

A hit-and-run dispute escalated into a stabbing in Alexandria. The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to the 800 block of W. Glebe Road for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a stab wound. Witnesses were able to provide police with a license plate of the driver.

Runaway charter bus causes widespread damages in Bethesda

A runaway charter bus caused widespread damage for several blocks in Montgomery County. According to Montgomery County police, the driver of the charter bus lost control on Wisconsin Avenue between Montgomery Avenue and Battery Lane. The location is not far from the Bethesda Metro station. Police said the driver may have lost control of the brakes. The driver hit multiple cars, light poles and utility poles, with most of the damage near Chestnut Street.
