The 2026 Indy 500 starting grid is set, with Alex Palou leading the field from pole position for Chip Ganassi Racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The defending Indianapolis 500 winner produced a four lap average speed of 232.248mph to secure pole for the 110th running of the race, beating Alexander Rossi and David Malukas to the front row. Palou has already built a reputation as one of the most complete drivers in the NTT IndyCar Series, and his latest pole proves how far he has come on ovals.

Ed Carpenter Racing‘s Alexander Rossi successfully completed outpatient procedures after his horrifying crash in practice ahead of Sunday’s Indy 500, and now prepares to return in time for the famous race in Indianapolis. The 34-year-old had qualified second behind Alex Palou but finds himself lucky to be in a position to compete on May 24 after a big accident whilst practicing pack-running on Monday, May 18 as he collided with the wall.
