DICKINSON — The post-game fireworks show gave fans plenty to stick around for, but the Badlands Big Sticks made sure there was plenty worth watching before the lights went out. Badlands held off the Minot Hot Tots 2-1 Friday night, using timely defense and two sacrifice flies from Gavyn Schlotterback to take the opener of a four-game series at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark. Badlands' Gavyn Schlotterback accounted for both RBIs in the Big Sticks 2-1 series-opening win against Minot.

Roughriders rally for doubleheader split with Miles City

DICKINSON — The Dickinson Roughriders spent Tuesday night on both sides of a comeback. After watching Miles City erase a seven-run deficit in the opener, Dickinson rallied late in game two to salvage a doubleheader split at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark. The first game appeared firmly in the Roughriders’ control after a seven-run opening inning, as Dickinson sent 12 batters to the plate and even forced an early pitching change for Miles City.

Big Sticks settle for weekend split against rival Bismarck

DICKINSON — The Badlands Big Sticks settled for a split with rival Bismarck over the weekend, but not before putting together one of their most complete performances of the season Saturday night at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Ballpark. Before dropping Sunday’s finale 7-2, the Big Sticks opened the two-game set with a complete performance Saturday night, using strong pitching and enough offense to earn a 6-1 victory over its North Dakota rival.
