145 years ago From the Jan. 6, 1881, edition of the Fairplay Flume • Capt. W. H. White, one of the oldest settlers on Currant Creek, was in town Monday and reports heavy snow falls and severe weather for that section. He says much more snow has fallen about there than in the neighborhood of Fairplay. Richard Tremayne also informs us that the same is true of West Four-Mile. These localities are fully 2,000 feet lower than Fairplay.
