Pilates-based interventions may improve mobility, balance, and quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis (MS), while reducing their fatigue, according to a review study. According to the researchers, supervised Pilates may be helpful alongside rehabilitation when delivered by trained physiotherapists and tailored to patients’ disability level, fatigue level, and functional goals.

Three courageous women took on a mighty hiking challenge at the weekend, straight after Catherine, Princess of Wales did the same thing, walking miles to raise funds for MS-UK. Aly Kemp, Lexi Whiteside and Kirsty Robinson have all been recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and although strangers to begin with, they’re now bonded for life after taking on what Aly called ‘the most brutal and hard’ thing she’s ever done.

Louise Jeffery, 56, from Tonbridge, Kent was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) in October 2023. Since then, she has turned her attentions to fundraising and this year she has a fantastic MS-UK climb in mind, planning to take on The Tower Walk 2026 – with a twist. The Tower Walk 2026 will challenge fundraisers to climb Tower 42 – London’s first ever skyscraper – 42 floors above the London skyline.

What was your first job as a journalist?

I was an intern for a local magazine called Wall Township Magazine, where I covered arts and entertainment stories.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! If they were more up to par with the convenience of modern technology, I would definitely revert back to the good ole typewriting days!

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Andy Sachs, from the Devil Wears Prada (book and movie). Likable and relatable intern (with the exception of her having "no sense of style")!
