Thurston County sheriff's deputy shoots, injures man while responding to fire Original

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — A Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and injured a man while responding to call about a fire Thursday morning. The deputy was responding to the fire at a property near 149th Lane Southeast and Smith Prairie Road Southeast when the man came at the deputy aggressively, according to the sheriff’s office. The deputy fired their weapon and struck the man in his extremities. The deputy was not injured in the shooting. The fire has since been put out.

Woman injured with significant burns after fire rips through Graham home

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue A woman was taken to the hospital with significant burn injuries after a residential fire in Graham early Thursday morning. Four people were displaced from the house fire, according to Central Pierce Fire and Rescue. Firefighters were dispatched to a residential structure fire about 12:48 a.m. in the 22500 block of 147th Avenue Court East. Crews saw "heavy fire" with flames burning through the roof of the home.

Seattle to distribute over 1,400 free World Cup tickets to youth, caregivers Original

SEATTLE — Hundreds of youth and their caregivers will get to attend FIFA World Cup matches for free thanks to a City of Seattle youth access initiative. Seattle leaders announced the program Tuesday, saying over 40 organizations will distribute more than 1,400 tickets free of charge. “For many of these young people, I know this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson said at a press conference.
