Consumer Reports tested products containing Red 40, a common food dye, and found several exceeding daily intake levels for children and adults. The investigation revealed that the daily intake level for Red 40 is 4.9 milligrams for adults and 1.6 milligrams for children. Chocolate Jell-O Zero Sugar Instant Pudding, Ocean Spray Diet Cran-Grape Juice, and Flamin' Hot Cheetos were found to exceed both the adult and child daily intake levels.
