BOSTON (WHDH) - AJ Dybantsa made history this week when he became the first person born in Massachusetts to become the NBA’s number one pick. Now the Brockton phenom is back home from the draft and talking exclusively with 7’s Amaka Ubaka. And if Dybantsa is a “wizard” on the basketball court, it’s because his hometown helped him hone his powers. “I want to kind of put Brockton on the map,” said the 19-year-old Brockton native who is officially moving to DC to play for the Washington Wizards.

BOSTON (WHDH) - A health care program in Boston is aiming to ensure that homeless women in the area are getting the care they need and each week they have an event that goes way beyond that. Every Saturday, the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program holds Her Saturday at the Barbara McInnis House in the South End. Patient Susie Perullo said, “They become my family. These women, they care about you. You’re not just in and out, if you’re not here, they’ll come looking for you.

BOSTON (WHDH) - Twins are living independently for the first time in their lives through a new program called Best Buddies Living, which provides residential support for those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Best Buddies, founded by Anthony Shriver, helps those with intellectual or developmental disabilities land jobs, build friendships, and live fuller lives. Through Best Buddies Living, twins Nathaniel and Austin Lewin find themselves living in their own apartment together.
