Catch and cook redfish in Crystal River | Reel Talk

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Redfish or red drum are delicious inshore fish to target! You can catch them anywhere in Florida, especially near mangrove trees and on shallow flats. Captain Andrew Meyer with Tailwalker Fishing Charters showed Amanda his favorite techniques for the Crystal River region. The mangrove island coastline makes for a great habitat for these tasty fish. The bite was on fire most of the day, and they even managed to catch a few keepers.

Heaviest rain inland this weekend

Similar to yesterday, the first few showers will develop around lunch near the coast. Showers build through the afternoon and stay scattered until about 4 or 5 pm. After that, storms will be focused east of I-75 through the evening. An onshore west wind develops this weekend.
