I'm not a huge fan of fiction, but happy to nominate Clark Kent as my favorite fictional journalist.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I'm not sure what it means to be a journalist. I consider myself a diehard creative and strong writer.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I'll accept story pitches from any person who has a clear purpose of what they want to accomplish in writing.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My preferred tools to do my freelance writing are the Microsoft suite of products.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram is my favorite social network because it combines images and words for a satisfying experience.
Who do you wish followed you?
It is my all-time desire to be followed by and in communications with celebrities.
Why did you become a journalist?
It is an honor to be considered a journalist. I refer to myself as a freelance writer.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I never worked for a newspaper and do not have a formal background in journalism.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm most proud of my work on Lorena Gallo versus John Bobbitt. Spent over 100 hours on this single assignment.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I'm happy to receive story pitches at any time. Pitches with detailed information score higher.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
There is no such thing as a bad pitch. I handle all people and their pitches with discretion and courtesy.
What's your favorite drink?
My preferred drink is lemonade, unless I'm asked to do a story on other drinks.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I read publications to stay informed; I don't really have time to read for pleasure.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I don't cover just one beat; I write about anything that is assigned to me. I'm a writer of diverse stories with deep creativity.
