BA in political communication (journalism minor) from the University of Northern Iowa '06. Started full-time at The (Fergus Falls, Minn.) Daily Journal in April of 2006. Left there in January of 2007 when I took my previous job at the Waterloo/Cedar Falls (Iowa) Courier, which I held until Oct. 22, 2012, when my position and several others were eliminated. WATERLOO — Snow fooling: We’re getting another dump tonight — and Waterloo has broken some snowfall records already. Most of Northeast Iowa will see between 4 and 6 inches of snow tonight through Wednesday, the bulk coming after midnight. If the forecast holds, that will mean this February is the snowiest of all time — and the month’s not over yet. A total of 21.7 inches of snow has fallen on Waterloo since Feb.

CEDAR FALLS – A Cedar Falls woman was taken to the hospital after she was found unconscious in her locked, burning home, while a locked car with two cats, pet medication and food idled outside. Melissa Jensen, 42, was found unconscious about 20 feet from the front door of her home on Feb. 14, according to Cedar Falls Fire Chief John Bostwick. She was taken to Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls with unspecified injuries.
