How is social media changing news?
It is redefining who we think of as our audience and what we think of as feedback for our work.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Quite liked Jim Sarbh in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Not sure if I have a favourite though.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be excessively curious and inadequately paid.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I like it when somebody honestly tells me what they have and not what the story should be.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter, I hate you like I love you.
Who do you wish followed you?
Unfortunately, most people I genuinely admire are not on social media.
Why did you become a journalist?
Love for stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Edited the Hindi section of my school's annual magazine.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Can't say that just yet.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I'm too inexperienced to offer anybody advice but someone asked me to spend less time on Twitter and that changed my life.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Still waiting for it.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
99% of all pitches coming from PR folks.

Tang.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Glued to my mobile screen?
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it doesn't involve much reporting from the ground.
