Research progress of tsRNAs in kidney diseases
Approximately 10% of adults worldwide currently suffer from chronic kidney disease (CKD), leading to around 1.2 million deaths annually (Kalantar-Zadeh et al., 2021). In Asia, the number of CKD patients is as high as 443 million, with nearly 160 million in China alone (Liyanage et al., 2022). This disease is characterized by its irreversible progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD), which inevitably results in patient mortality (Kalantar-Zadeh et al., 2021).

Neutrophil extracellular traps in central nervous system (CNS) diseases
Central nervous system (CNS) diseases refer to diseases that occur within the CNS, leading to the disturbance of structure and functions of CNS (Boziki et al., 2020; Kang et al., 2023; Nabors et al., 2020; Pellegrini et al., 2023).
Predictive value of machine learning for the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) in hospital intensive care units (ICU) patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
We designed this systematic review according to the checklist provided by the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses guidelines (Supplemental Material). A protocol for this study was registered on PROSPERO (https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/#myprospero), with the registration number ID: CRD42022362838. We conduct a comprehensive and systematic search of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science from inception through 25 June 2022.

Tubular epithelial progenitors are excreted in urine during recovery from severe acute kidney injury and are able to expand and differentiate in vitro
Discussion Acute kidney injury represents a major risk for the development of CKD, need for dialysis and death. In the past, renal epithelial progenitor cells in urine have shown to be an excellent prognostic sign for recovery from AKI in kidney transplanted patients, however up to now, none of these cell agglomerates have been described in non-transplanted AKI patients (Knafl et al., 2019).
CKD in diabetes: diabetic kidney disease versus nondiabetic kidney disease.
The increasing global prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) has prompted research efforts to tackle the growing epidemic of diabetic kidney disease (DKD; also known as diabetic nephropathy). The limited success of much of this research might in part be due to the fact that not all patients diagnosed with DKD have renal dysfunction as a consequence of their diabetes mellitus.
