Florida Board of Governors bars undocumented students from state's public universities

Florida public universities will no longer admit undocumented students.The Florida Board of Governors passed the measure at its meeting Thursday at Florida Gulf Coast University. By unanimous vote and with no discussion, the board of governors approved an amendment to its admissions rule. Doors are shut to students without lawful status as of the 2027-2028 academic year. Among eight speakers giving comment before the vote was FGCU graduate student Connor Plonka.

New College keeps attacking alumni. Here's what it won't say | Opinion

For three years now, fellow alumni and I have written guest columns demanding accountability and financial transparency from New College of Florida's administration. And we've been justified in doing so. For example, HBO host John Oliver told his national audience in June that New College boosted enrollment by recruiting more than 70 baseball players, including 12 catchers and seven first basemen.
