watchesbysjx.com — Vacheron Constantin's headline watch at SIHH this year was a grand complication that concentrated on astronomical functions: the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600, "Celestia" for short. The watch is an impressive and beautifully finished array of 23 (mainly) astronomical based complications. But more than just a beautifully designed and made watch, the Celestia represents centuries of work on linking the time on our watch with the heavens above. PuristSPro — Phillipe Dufour placed his bag on the chair next to him, sat on the seat directly behind him, leaned back and exhaled: "You can learn all your life; especially in watchmaking. Along with Robert Greubel we [gesturing to Michel Boulanger and Stephen Forsey seated to his right] started all this to preserve the old knowledge and skills of watchmaking." With a wry smile he added: “We will probably not halt the demise of the traditional methods, but we might slow the decline.”
