Highlights Recent publications have uncovered a largely overlooked role of RNA splicing factors and alternative splicing (AS) decisions in controlling liver adaptation, physiology, and homeostasis. Dynamic regulation of pre-mRNA splicing and AS allows for expanded complexity of gene expression in liver increasing its capacity for adaptation in response to metabolic stimuli.
