ScoMac has extended its service and maintenance cover beyond the Scottish border by setting up a new business with the management of Professional Kitchen Service (PKS). PKS, which employed around 15 engineers, got into difficulties last month, which led MD Kevin Davis to resign his position as chairman of CEDA. Mr Davis and finance director Jill Port have now joined with the ScoMac team to form the new operation, called ScoMac Central Technical Services.
A successful Mexican street food restaurant claims it is pulling in new punters thanks to its attention to detail over counter design. Panchos Burritos, which has restaurants in Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester, has an average weekly footfall of 5,000 customers between its three restaurants, but realised that dealing with volume and ensuring an intuitive customer experience would require a real focus on front-of-house specification.
A sculpture of bronze rods configured into a giant arc and intended to act as a “living calendar” has been chosen as the winning design for the Memorial to the Victims of Communism. Arc of Memory was chosen for the monument by Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly following public consultations in March 2017 and on the recommendations of a jury of design professionals.
