Ex-Rangers star reveals why Philippe Clement WON’T be sacked after catastrophic Scottish Cup shock
PHILIPPE CLEMENT last night told Rangers fans he's going nowhere despite the monumental Scottish Cup upset to Queen's Park. And one former Rangers star has revealed why he believes the Belgian is right and won't be forced out of the Ibrox dugout just yet. Many fans are hoping last night's massive shock will be the last straw and the board will now take action regarding Clement's future. Clement, 50, was already under serious pressure at Ibrox for the club's shocking domestic form away from.
Rangers 0 Queen’s Park 1: Gers knocked OUT of Scottish Cup in historic shock as Ferrie heroics seal stunning triumph
QUEEN’S PARK shattered a 143-YEAR record to leave Philippe Clement facing the sack. Scotland’s oldest club hadn’t beaten Rangers in a Scottish Cup tie since 1882. They hadn’t beaten the Light Blues in any competition since 1948. But super sub Seb Drozd and hero keeper Calum Ferrie combined to rewrite the history books on an astonishing afternoon no Spiders fan will ever forget. Drozd’s stunning winner was in itself something to savour.
Spain 2 Scotland 0
IN a city of bullfighting this was bull****. Seville’s matadors have nothing on how Dutch referee Serdar Gozubuyuk skewered Scotland. Everything he did was a red rag to the Steve Clarke and his side. But his decision to disallow a Scott McTominay wonder goal at 0-0 was an absolute disgrace. The records books will show Spain’s Álvaro Morata and Oihan Sancet scored the two goals that counted. But it was the one that didn’t which left such a bad taste on the mouth.
May records first WHL victory in 3-2 triumph over Oil Kings
Medicine Hat would strike right back at 5:16 as Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) would score his 4th of the year beating Hay far side on the glove to even things up at 1-1. Brayden Boehm (Nanaimo, BC) & Pasha Bocharov (Escondido, CA) would make help on the assist department. The Oil Kings would respond at 8:40 as on a power play Nathan Pilling would score on a rebound to regain the Edmonton lead of 2-1 which would give the Oil Kings their first lead after 40 minutes against the Tigers this season.
Former Canucks' goalie Eddie Lack calls out Jim Benning for handling of Markstrom contract
Jacob Markstrom may have earned his way into some pretty huge money. After a 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs in which Markstrom was debatably the best goalie through two rounds, the end of the ‘Nucks season means they have to focus on a general manager’s worst nightmare: signing that goalie. Part of what makes it difficult is that it took Markstrom a while to round into form.
Matt Dumba gives thoughtful response after being named recipient the King Clancy Memorial Trophy
On Sunday, Minnesota Wild defenceman Matt Dumba was named recipient of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, awarded to the player or players who best exemplify leadership qualities on and off the ice and have made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in their communities. It is one of those awards that is an extra special honour to receive, because it is recognition of your “bigger than hockey” contributions, rather than solely focusing on the on-ice contributions.
Dallas Stars advance to the Western Conference Final in epic fashion
BarDown Staff Dallas Stars win , Andy Devlin/NHLI via Getty Images The Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars put together one of the most entertaining series of this year’s NHL playoffs, so it’s only fitting that it all came down to overtime in Game 7 to decide the winner. After the Avalanche scored late in the third period to take the lead, the Stars answered right back and went on to finish it off in overtime.
Thatcher Demko had a playoff start debut for the ages
Last night, the Vegas Golden Knights had the Vancouver Canucks on the ropes. Down three games to one in their second round series, the Canucks had to lay it all out on the line in order to live to play another day. Of course, they did. It’s almost how the Canucks like it at this point, being counted out by hockey fans and their opponent, and then battling back to stay alive. They did just that last night, taking a 2-1 victory and forcing the series to six games.
78% of Avalanche skaters recorded a point in the 1st period of Game 5
The Dallas Stars came out of the gate hot on Sunday when they scored the first three goals of Game 4 in the first half of the 1st period. They held on to win 5-4 in the end to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. On Monday, it was Colorado’s turn to light up the 1st period. The Avs scored five goals in the opening frame. All five goals had two assists credited. Incerdibly, the 15 credited points only saw one player record two (Andre Burakovsky).
Canucks issue statement in regards to their players electing not to play Thursday's game
The NHL officially postponed Thursday and Friday night’s games after the players elected not to play their games. Shortly after the announcement was made, the Vancouver Canucks issued their own statement in regards to the postponement of their game and mentioned that players from both sides elected not to play the game.
Flames score 3 quick goals before giving up 6 straight and there were all sorts of reactions
BarDown Staff Dallas Stars comeback , Andy Devlin/NHLI via Getty Images Game 6 between the Calgary Flames and the Dallas Stars took place on Thursday night and it was a win or go home game for the Flames, who entered the contest trailing the series 3-2. The Flames got off to an extremely hot start as they scored three goals before the four-minute mark and well before the Stars even attempted a shot on goal. What. A.
Someone edited Gurianov's Wikipedia page to 'owner of the Calgary Flames' - Article - BARDOWN
TSN.ca Staff (Photo by Andy Devlin/NHLI via Getty Images) Last night, Denis Gurianov had a night he’ll never forget. The Dallas Stars rookie had a historic night last night in their series-clinching 7-3 win against the Flames, becoming the first rookie since 1988 to score four goals in a playoff game, and the second to ever accomplish the feat. Of course, the hockey world was lit up, and Twitter was pumped for the young Russian.
The Oilers team other than their top three combined for a seriously underwhelming series point total
It’s a sad day in Oil country. Despite having two of the undisputed best hockey players in the world, the Edmonton Oilers still couldn’t make it past the play-in series, and their dreams of Stanley Cup glory were squandered once more. As it goes with this team, their top players did absolutely everything they could to drag the rest of the group along to the second round. McDavid did as McDavid does, wowing everyone and actually leading the league in postseason points with nine.

Twins training in Whistler, hope to keep playing next season By Dan Falloon Things were lining up for Beck Warm to wrap his junior hockey career with a bang. The 20-year-old Whistler goalie, who carried the load and faced a barrage of shots as the Tri-City Americans' starter, got a new lease on life after a January trade to the league-leading Edmonton Oil Kings, posting 11 wins in 15 starts with his new club.

It’s always easy to judge who the best hockey players are from the couch or the stands. While fans probably agree that McDavid is the unanimous favourite player to watch, do the players feel the same way?
With Perry out five months, who will step up for Ducks?

Earlier this week, the team announced that defenceman Andrej Sekera underwent successful surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon and will be sidelined indefinitely. Sekera only played 36 games last season and the Oilers were counting on him to play a big role.

Wayne Gretzky Skates Into a Pair of Unbeatable Real Estate Deals
Retired hockey legend Wayne Gretzky is proving to be just as sharp in real estate as he was on the ice—flipping a Southern California house for a $600,000 profit, then turning around and picking up another mansion at a huge discount. The 57-year-old Hockey Hall of Famer bought a nearly 5,600-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 5-bath house in Westlake Village, CA, last summer for $3.6 million.
