Still Standing

At 48 I look back at my life and it's clear that the only reason I'm standing here with my Beeb and NuNu is because Jesus literally has saved me. From being a victim of multiple sexual assaults, drug addiction, domestic violence, jail, being diagnosed with HIV while in jail and pregnant in 1998, given ten years to live and still standing strong. All glory to God, still undetectable to HIV at over 20 years, it is by the Grace of God. I may have my bad days, but who doesn't?

I'm Faith and I'm living with HIV. I learned I had HIV when I was 24 and by that time I was fighting depression, but I decided not to let it control my life. I educated myself about HIV. Witnessing the persistent stigma against people living with HIV in our communities, I felt compelled to educate myself about HIV and AIDS. I've been living with HIV since birth, navigating the challenges for nearly 28 years. Adjusting to taking these medications was quite the challenge.
