Elevated Wildfire Weather Forecast For Texas' Western Plains And Trans Pecos Through Thursday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Wildfire potential is increased through Thursday across portions of the state, including the Western Plains and Trans Pecos. According to a press release from the Texas A&M Forest Service, the combination of above normal temperatures and dry conditions, as well as an extended period of forecasted elevated to critical fire weather, will create an environment conducive to wildfire activity this week.

High Plains Public Radio Receives Grant From The Mary E. Bivins Foundation

AMARILLO, TX – The Mary E. Bivins Foundation has awarded High Plains Public Radio (HPPR) a $20,000 grant. The Bivins Foundation’s grant will allow HPPR to repair the transmission system of KTOT-FM 89.5-Spearman-Perryton, restoring it to 100% power and its full northeast Texas Panhandle coverage area. KTOT is one of HPPR’s five stations that serve people in the Texas Panhandle.
