The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and serving its citizens as it marked its 163rd anniversary. It also pledged to sustain ongoing operations against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other security threats across the country. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Waidi Shaibu, made the pledge in a goodwill message delivered on Sunday during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2026 Interdenominational Church Service in Abuja.
