Like many people around the world, my family and I enjoyed following the World Cup this summer. We always love watching major international events such as the Olympics and World Cup because they bring together amazing athletes competing at the highest level, highlight different cultures and backgrounds, and create something for all of us to connect over, even when we are rooting for different teams. It was an exciting summer for soccer.

The end of the school year is always a moment for both celebration and reflection. Across Roaring Fork Schools, we are honoring important milestones, student achievements and the collective work of our staff and families. This weekend, we will celebrate the Class of 2026 as 437 seniors graduate across our four high schools and begin the next chapter of their lives.

The first week of May is National Teacher Appreciation Week. While every single person in our organization plays a critical role in supporting our students, schools and staff, research shows that teachers are the primary driver of student academic growth and achievement. More than academic programs, more than curriculum, more than facilities, more than athletics or clubs or district office staff, teachers make the difference for student academic achievement.
