A UK man has been found guilty of manslaughter over the death of his farmstay host in central Victoria after she rejected his romantic interest. Timothy Loosemore, 62, faced a 14-day trial in the Supreme Court of Victoria over the death of Maree Vermont, 60, whose remains were found after a house fire in Goldie, near Kilmore, in August 2023. The jury delivered its verdict today, finding Loosemore not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter.

Authorities are investigating allegations three pet dogs died after being baited at a popular walking spot in the Murray River town of Echuca in northern Victoria. Yvette Height said her two beloved dogs and a dog belonging to her brother died suddenly on Monday just hours after her husband walked them on a grassy area near the Echuca Harness Racing Club.

A women's football club in central Victoria says a player has stepped aside after sexual assault charges against her were revealed. Court documents show former police officer Lucy Lenius is facing four sexual assault charges over an incident in April 2022, in Melbourne's western suburbs. Ms Lenius's charges related to allegedly intentionally touching a complainant in a sexual manner without consent.
