New York, NY – Some AFT members were working at what would become ground zero on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, when two hijacked planes took down the twin towers at the World Trade Center in New York City. Some AFT members rushed to care for the first responders. And some of today’s AFT members were not yet born. Friends and colleagues of Hilda Taylor, one of the Washington Teachers’ Union members killed in the plane that crashed into the Pentagon.

Not everyone gets a cold or the flu during this time of year, but it’s best to be prepared and support that amazing immune system of ours so we can enjoy the holiday season.

Ending on Nov. 1 after a spirited dash through Florida, the AFT Votes bus tour visited thousands of members in 14 states, tapping into excitement for the presidential election and helping our members get out the vote nationwide.
