She could have taken it to court, but the mediocre lawyer billed $175 for half an hour of  “reading and processing correspondence,” which really encouraged her desire to minimize legal action. Maybe that was just her being lazy. Maybe, on some level, she enjoyed being forced to do this, dragging other people into her bizarre pain.
