Introduction Child mental health problems in Australia are common and can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of children, caregivers, and families (Schlack et al., 2021; Scott et al., 2016). The Young Minds Matter Survey found almost 14% of Australian children aged 4−11 experienced a mental disorder in 2013−2014, the most common being Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and anxiety disorders (Lawrence et al., 2015).
