DUNMORE - The Pocahontas County Lady Warrior varsity and junior varsity girls basketball squads defeated East Hardy 61-42 on Saturday. The varsity Lady Warriors (3-3) got off to a fast start, jumping out to an 8-0 run in the first quarter, but East Hardy (1-5) battled back to end the quarter with a 16-16 tie. Lady Warrior junior Sara Ryder, who is averaging a double-double, was benched in the opening stanza after picking up to quick fouls.
