It’s official! Henry Shefflin is the new manager of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. The county board appointed him after a meeting on Monday evening. Shefflin, who won a record 10 All-Irelands as a player, has been serving as the county's Under-20 manager. The move comes after Derek Lyng's departure and an underwhelming season for Kilkenny — in which they disappointed in Leinster and failed to secure a quarterfinal spot in the All Ireland championship.
