Read Full Bio →I love food and I love to ask people questions. I wanted to be a journalist very early on and began interviewing everyone I met. I still have notebooks full of my own shorthand that I've forgotten how to read.
I grew up in Rhode Island, eating clamcakes and stuffies and working for the local newspaper, covering town council meetings and sewer board disputes. On-the-job training is the way to learn.

I started at the Gazette Newspapers in Maryland. There's no training like covering cops, courts, and town council meetings.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
My senior term paper was typed on an electric typewriter.
How is social media changing news?
It is allowing us to real-time access to sources, but it is also generating a lot of misinformation and fake "experts."
