Today, I am introducing a watch from a newer Austrian watch brand based in Vienna, known as Blütezeit. Before talking about the Blütezeit No. 2 timepiece, I want to share some context about brands of this ilk. We exist in an interesting era for small and startup watchmakers.

The latest IFL Watches collaboration product with Citizen features a beautiful new painting technique and uses the popular Japanese brand’s affordable, mechanical diver’s-style watch as a base. The new limited-edition product (of 200 pieces) is known as the IFL Watches x Citizen Tsuyosa Shore Mako. As the “Mako” part of the name implies, the thematic focus of the dial art is sharks.

The summer wristwatch of 2026 has got to be this special collaboration edition Casio G-Shock x Coca-Cola GA2100CC-3A timepiece. It captures the essence of what so many Americans dream about during the hot months, and in my opinion, it is a rather fitting way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. More on that in a moment, as America’s birthday was not the point of this watch. Rather, it celebrates the 140th anniversary of Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, founded in 1886.
