What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist is like being handed a megaphone in a cacophony. It's your chance to cut through the noise, to highlight the beats that really matter, and maybe, just maybe, jolt folks into sitting up and taking notice. It's not just about being a voice, but about amplifying the whispers that get drowned out in the daily hullabaloo. Through the stories I chase, the truths I unearth, and the narratives I weave, I get to nudge the world, ever so slightly, towards something better. It’s a bit like matchmaking – pairing problems with solutions, connecting dots, and sometimes, setting up a date between the public and the powers-that-be, hoping sparks fly and things change. At its heart, journalism for me is a love affair with the world's untold stories, a way of falling in love with the chaos and trying to sketch out a clearer picture for everyone to see. It’s about believing, against all odds, that my pen (or keyboard, because, hello, digital age!) can be mightier than the sword and can dance its way to nudging the country a little closer to the light.
