Frost Children brought Frost Fest home to Knockdown Center in Maspeth, Queens on July 25th, and the venue never got a chance to cool off. Strobes ran through nearly the entire set, the kind of nonstop flash that had people shielding their eyes between songs, and once the lasers kicked in the room was already soaked through with sweat before the first song ended.

Silverstein Turns the Stone Pony Summer Stage into One Giant Pit

Silverstein took the stage at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on July 12th, and the mosh pit that formed over the next hour stretched the length of the venue. By the set’s peak it had swallowed more ground than the stage itself, sending waves of crowd surfers toward the barricade that never really let up. The band opened with “Negative Space” and “Drain the Blood,” and the room was already loud before “Smashed Into Pieces” hit.

On July 1st, Honey Revenge, Chase Petra, Winona Fighter, South Arcade, and Games We Play brought the Summer School Tour to Irving Plaza in New York City, and the crowd was ready before the first note hit. Main singer Devin Papadol was battling a cold, but you would have had a hard time knowing it from the floor. From the opening notes of “Run Your Mouth,” the room was already locked in.
