1 Introduction Alcohol consumption is particularly harmful in adolescence due to its neurodevelopmental effects [1]. Delaying alcohol initiation and reducing consumption among adolescents is a common priority in alcohol policies and strategies globally [2, 3]. One potential lever used by policymakers is to reduce adolescents' exposure to alcohol advertising. There is a well-established association between frequency of alcohol advertisement exposure and alcohol consumption among adolescents [4-7].

1 Introduction There is a substantial level of unmet need for alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment services internationally [1]. In Australia, the setting of this study, estimates indicate that only 30%–48% of the people who would benefit from AOD treatment are able to access it [2].
