2 injured when ceiling collapses at Milkcraft in West Hartford

The West Hartford building department was on scene Tuesday morning to assess the damage. WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Two people were injured after a ceiling collapsed at an ice cream shop in West Hartford around 8 p.m. Monday. West Hartford fire officials say there were 12 to 20 customers and six employees inside Milkcraft on Farmington Avenue when the ceiling collapsed. Lilla Magee was inside at the time.

Police: Vernon Motel owner killed in argument over $10 pool pass

In court Monday the state argued they have a strong case as the entire incident was caught on surveillance video. VERNON, Conn. — A Vernon man is dead after a shooting that police said started with an argument over a $10 pool pass at the Motel 6 on Hartford Turnpike. A Hartford man now facing charges in his death. Vernon resident Zeshan Chaudhry, 30, died after being shot in broad daylight at the Motel 6 Sunday. According to the Associated Press, Chaudhry owned the motel.

Maryland man arrested in Guilford after bringing child onto railroad tracks

Officers determined the man was attempting to hurt himself and the child; he then fled into a nearby swamp. GUILFORD, Conn. — A Maryland man is facing charges after he allegedly brought a child onto train tracks in Guilford, in what was an apparent attempt at a murder-suicide. Amtrak Police, along with Guilford Police and fire units, responded to calls of a man with a child on the tracks Friday night. Officers determined the man was attempting to hurt himself and the child.
