Somewhere along the line, performance marketing got a reputation for being transactional. Clicks, conversions, ROAS — it became shorthand for “just run the ad and see what sticks.” But at its best, performance marketing isn’t shallow at all. It reflects back exactly what’s working, and what isn’t — often faster and more clearly than brand campaigns, splashy launches, or big-budget creative. It’s not better. It’s not worse.
