What was your first job as a journalist?
Working for University of Portland's newsgroup, The Beacon, as a news reporter. Now, I serve as the Editor-in-Chief.
How is social media changing news?
It has become a great platform for quick news, and serves as a way to engage with the readers.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means pursuing the truth, and shedding light on stories that are often overlooked or misunderstood.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
As an aspiring journalist myself, I'd say don't hold back. Put yourself in uncomfortable situations long enough, and it becomes your trade.
What's your favorite drink?
Black coffee.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Ideally with friends, sometimes on the forest trails, other times turning the pages of a new book.
