Team Stats CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The No. 2-ranked Santa Barbara City College women's water polo team had a busy weekend, earning second place at the SoCal Regionals and collecting Western State Conference honors. On Friday, Luciana Grooms scored 4 goals to help the Vaqs to a 16-4 win over Saddleback College in the opening round of the regionals. Ava Barclay added 5 assists and 6 steals to go with her 17 saves in goal.

VENTURA, Calif. -- The No. 2-ranked Santa Barbara City College women's water polo team earned its 11th consecutive Western State Conference championship, besting Cuesta College 20-7 on Saturday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Katie Strohl led the Vaqueros at both ends of the pool, dishing out 4 assists and grabbing 5 steals to go with her 3 goals. The Vaqs jumped out to an early lead, holding a 5-1 advantage after the first quarter.

Team Stats Santa Barbara City College women's water polo team competed in the 27th annual Battle of the Beach hosted by Long Beach City College. The Vaqueros played 4 games, beating Cerritos, #9 Delta, #3 Orange Coast, and falling to #1 Long Beach City. Their efforts earned them 2nd place at the tournament. SBCC 16- Cerritos 7: SBCC never looked back after scoring the first goal against the hosting Falcons. In a total team effort victory, 11 different players scored goals.
